Improving Scribe performance for Microsoft Dynamics CRM with Bulk Processing and Multi-Threading

There are two different settings that you can combine to significantly improve your Scribe Insight Dynamics CRM data imports.  The first is enabling Bulk Processing and setting your batch count.  The second is enabling CRM multi-threading to break your batch into different threads so they can process in parallel.

To enable bulk processing in your step click on the Operation tab and enable bulk processing and set your number of rows up to 1000.

Please note bulk processing does not work in all cases.  If you have multi-step operations it will not work properly.  For example if you have a lot of seek steps then these will not be done in bulk.

Then you can set your multi-threading count to break your records into different threads

To do this click on the CRM adapter:

Click on Adapter Settings:

Click to enable Multi-Threading and set your thread count:

For example in this case it will group the records of 1,000 into 32 threads which would give each thread 31 records to process. Now this might not be ideal.  You might want to break that down to less threads to get more records in each thread.

Now there is no set formula for the best performance.  You need to determine yourself through testing. If you test different configurations you will find the best solution for you to process your migration.
