Canadian Anti-Spam - Electronic Message Overview and Compliance
The Canadian Anti-Spam legislation (CASL) is coming into effect on July 1, 2014. The long awaited legislation has been touted as being the strictest in the world and while its primary purpose is to combat spam, every organization which engages in the sending of commercial electronic messages (CEMs) across Canada must comply or face hefty fines up to $10,000,000.
This brochure provides an overview of the new policies and goes on to provide definitions for commercial electronic messages and consent. It covers unsubscribe mechanisms, processes and policies and important information on software.
